Project Plans
On April 17, 2023, Huron-Kinloss Council awarded the tender for the reconstruction of Tanglewood Dr. (Laidlaw to east limit), Jardine Pl, and Ridgewood Rd to Omega Contracting. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in July, however, an exact start date has not been determined at this time. The contract has a specified completion date of Oct. 20, 2023.
This project will have the same scope of work that was completed in Phase 1 on the reconstruction of Woodhaven Rd, Laidlaw Pl and Tanglewood Dr. from Woodhaven to Laidlaw. This includes new storm sewers and catch basins, new watermains and services, road lowering and widening and concrete curb and gutter.
The project will be completed with topcoat paving of the streets that are included in Phases 1 and 2 in 2024.

Things to be Aware Of:
There are some things that will be affected if you live or are visiting these streets.
Ditches: Some roadside ditches will be filled in during construction while several other ditches must be maintained and connected to the new storm sewer due to the elevation of properties in relation to the proposed road. These ditches will function solely for the purpose of collecting storm runoff from private properties and will no longer be required for road drainage.
Driveways: Please note that all existing primary driveways that are currently constructed of a gravel or asphalt surface will be restored with hot mix asphalt within the Township road allowance. Any driveways that appear to be secondary or have a grass surface will be restored with the same material as the existing surface. Concrete driveways will be replaced with as close to the same material as possible. If you are unsure how your driveway will be restored or if you wish to keep your gravel driveway, please contact the Township office.
Irrigation Systems: If you have a lawn irrigation system that is on or near the road allowance, we recommend that you remove them before construction begins because the contractor will not be responsible for repairing or replacing any damaged tubing or sprinkler heads that are located on Township property. If you are unsure if your irrigation system will interfere with the road construction activities, please contact the Township office.
Inconveniences: During this work, you may experience delays accessing your driveway and water interruptions. The Contractor will try to minimize the amount of airborne dust caused by this project however, some dust is unavoidable. We also recommend securing any fine china and breakable valuables that are on shelves in a safe place during construction because ground vibration is necessary for road construction activities to achieve proper compaction.
Services: Emergency services, garbage collection contractors and school bus companies will be notified of this project. You will be notified of any changes this makes to your usual services.
Other: Prior to road construction, EPCOR will be relocating gas mains that were mistakenly installed too close to the proposed road limits.
Let us know if you have any questions.
