Consultation has concluded

During the June 15th Council meeting, Township Council awarded the tender for the Willoughby St and Inglis St Reconstruction project to Kurtis Smith Excavating Inc. The work is expected to start in early July 2020.

The work shall include replacement of the existing watermain and storm sewers, and road improvements on Inglis Street (from Campbell Street to Willoughby Street) and Willoughby Street (from Outram Street to the bridge between Inglis Street and Ross Street). The scope of work will also include minor repairs to the bridge and the installation of a new sidewalk on the east side of Inglis Street. The bridge will be closed for approximately three weeks to complete the necessary repairs.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Township will not be able to host a public open house for residents and landowners to find out more about this project. As an alternative to such an event, all residents and landowners affected by this project are encouraged to view the construction drawings in the Documents section. Township staff will respond to any questions or concerns you may have regarding this project.

During this work, you may experience delays accessing your driveway and water interruptions. All residents that will be affected by planned water interruptions will be notified at least 24 hours prior to the time of the interruption. Unfortunately, not all water interruption can be planned, so we apologize if such incidents occur during this project.

The Contractor will try to minimize the amount of airborne dust caused by this project however some dust is unavoidable. We also recommend securing any fine china and breakable valuables that are on shelves in a safe place during construction because ground vibration is necessary for road construction activities. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Further to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, we ask that residents and landowners respect social distancing requirements and avoid approaching construction workers.  Any questions and concerns should be directed to the Township Office at (519) 395-3735.
