The Railway Street Municipal drain was constructed in the mid 90’s to provide drainage for the east end of Railway Street. The drain outlets into the Ripley Relief Municipal Drain that was constructed at the same time. The Relief Drain comes as far as the west side of 26 Railway Street with a catch basin and then crosses the street. The drain along Railway Street is enclosed but becomes an open drain once it reaches private property at 31 Railway Street. As this area is included within the overall Park Street project watershed, it would be a suitable time to investigate improvements to the Railway Municipal Drain and address any safety concerns.
