Council appointed RJ Burnside & Associates Limited under the Drainage Act to manage the Park Street Municipal Drain Improvement Project.
RJ Burnside & Associates has identified various drainage issues and are investigating a number of concepts to solve the drainage issue.

Park Street Municipal Drain Tender Results
Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Email this linkCouncil passed By-law 2024-03 being a by-law to accept the quote from TAS Excavating & Rentals Ltd. for a total price of $457,685 plus HST to supply the materials and to construct improvements to the Park Street Municipal Drain in Ripley.
Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2024. Property owners affected by the construction will be contacted by R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited.

SEALED BIDS, on forms supplied by the Contract Administrator, will be received at the Office of the Township of Huron-Kinloss until:
1:00 p.m., local time Thursday, September 21, 2023
The proposed Phase 1 of the Park Street Municipal Drain is located primarily within the Village of Ripley in Lot 16, Concession 6 in the Township of Huron-Kinloss (Geographic Township of Huron), County of Bruce.
The proposed work includes:
Fair Municipal Drain (Channel):
- Ap. 435 m of channel deepening and widening.
- Ap. 435 m of riparian grassed buffer.
- One outlet stilling basin.
- Three permanent sediment basins.
- Two temporary sediment control structures.
- Associated connections and appurtenances.
Park Street Municipal Drain (Pipe and Swale):
- Ap. 487 m of CDT and HDPE pipe (675 mm to 900 mm dia.) and grassed swale.
- Seven concrete structures with associated directional berms.
- One open cut sub-surface road crossing and one laneway crossing.
- One open cut surface culvert road crossing (900 mm dia.) and one laneway surface culvert crossing (600 mm dia.).
- Associated connections and appurtenances.
Railway Street Municipal Drain (Channel and Pipe):
- Ap. 71 m of channel infill.
- Ap. 71 m of CDT and HDPE pipe.
- Two concrete structures c/w pipe connections.
- Associated connections and appurtenances.

After the Court of Revision pronounced their decision, affected property owners have 21 days to appeal this decision to the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Tribunal.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss is investigating improvements to the Park Street Municipal Drain to improve the outlet on the Brown property.
Council appointed RJ Burnside & Associates Limited under the Drainage Act to manage the Park Street Municipal Drain Improvement Project.
The Township will be hosting the Second Information Meeting to provide landowners within the watershed an opportunity to learn more about the project and its impacts.
Representatives from RJ Burnside and Associates Limited and the Township of Huron-Kinloss will be participating virtually to provide information and answer questions on the project.

3.2 Park Street Municipal Drain Improvement
Ed DeLay gave a presentation on the purpose of the Meeting, the project background, the history, the existing drainage systems located in the Village of Ripley that are in some way connected to the Park Street Drain. He presented some of their current findings and presented some video of the camera work that has been completed on the current drainage system. Mr. DeLay explained the design criteria that will be followed. He explained the construction process and how project costs are assessed to property owners.
