Park St Reconstruction Project 2025
Pending Council approval, the Township of Huron-Kinloss will be starting a road construction project as early as May 2026 on the following roads:
- Park St. from Huron St. to Gladstone St. – Full Road Reconstruction
- Huron St. from Park St. to south Limit on west side of road– Sidewalk Replacement
- Ripley Cemetery entrance improvements from Gladstone St. to the columbarium
The Park St. Reconstruction project will include replacement of the existing watermain, water services and fire hydrants, new storm sewers (including Private Drain Connections), asphalt pavement, concrete curb and gutters and concrete sidewalks. The new 1.5m (5 ft) concrete sidewalks will be installed on the north side of Park St. continuous from Huron St. to Gladstone St. in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
The Huron St. sidewalk project will include the replacement of the existing 1.2m (4ft) sidewalks with 1.5m (5 ft) concrete sidewalks on the west side of the street from Park St. to the south village limits, which is the approximate location where the existing sidewalk ends. See Engineered Drawings for more details.
During this project, Park St will be restricted to local traffic only. The contractor will make their best efforts to ensure there is access to houses but there will be a short period that driveways will not be accessible when concrete is curing.
