Gough St Reconstruction Project 2025
Pending Council approval, the Township of Huron-Kinloss will be starting a road construction project as early as May 2025 on the following roads:
- Gough St. from Stauffer St. to Havelock St. – Full Road Reconstruction
- Inglis St. from Campbell St. to Gough St. – Sidewalk Replacement
- Gough St. Bridge rehabilitation between Stauffer St. and Inglis St
This street reconstruction project will include a new water services, some storm sewer upgrades (including Private Drain Connections), asphalt pavement and concrete curb and gutters. New 1.5m (5 ft) concrete sidewalks will be installed on the north side of Gough St. continuous from Stauffer St. to Havelock St.
The Inglis St. sidewalk project will include new 1.5m (5 ft) concrete sidewalks on the east side of the street from Gough St. to Campbell St in order to comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
During this project, Gough St will be restricted to local traffic only. The Gough St. bridge will be fully closed during the rehabilitation process and all through traffic will be detoured. The contractor will make their best efforts to ensure there is access to houses but there will be a short period that driveways will not be accessible when concrete is curing.

Curbs to be laid out and may be poured by end of week. May place base for sidewalk.
Oct 20-24, 2025
Road excavation and driveway apron excavation to be done working west to east. Subdrains to be installed. - Complete
Oct 6-10, 2025
Omega to complete watermain tie-ins for Gough and North Delhi. New watermain will be commissioned. Old watermain on North Delhi to be removed. Will start preparation of road base.
Sept 29-Oct 3, 2025
Watermain will be disinfected and sampled. Service installations & PDC installations continue. - Completed
Sept 22-26, 2025
Omega will be installing watermain under riverbed, new fire hydrants and valves, new water services and storm PDC for properties. Any abandoned watermain will be removed. - Completed
Sept 15-19, 2025
Omega plans to cut and cap the existing watermain, connect affected properties to the temporary water system, and continue with water service, stormwater, and hydrant installations. - Completed
Sept 12, 2025
To date, asphalt has been removed, the temporary water system has been set up, new water services, sanitary service, and PDC services have been installed. - Completed
Aug 25, 2025
Omega will be starting the Gough St project on September 4, 2025
August 11, 2025
This project has been delayed until September. Expected start date is September 8. Expected completion date October 24th.
July 31, 2025
Gough St will be closed starting early August. This includes Gough St bridge. Please use alternate route.
This tender has been awarded to Omega Contracting Group.
June 3, 2025
Gough St bridge will be closed starting this week. It is expected to be completely closed for approximately 5 weeks.
