Bruce Beach Rd Drainage # 136-155

Although I will be repeating many of the opinions already presented I will add my views in hopes that the Huron Kinloss Council will understand the frustration of property owners on Bruce Beach Rd.

As has been clearly demonstrated the "flooding" in the area of #136-155 Bruce Beach Rd is minimal, occurring for a few days in the spring, and causing no damage to structures or the integrity of the road. In fact the excess water has been much reduced since the Township constructed a small ditch on the east side of the road in the affected area. The residents are overwhelmingly in favour of improving the existing ditch (lengthening and adding material to further aid in drainage) and then monitoring the results over the next season or so before having to consider more extensive and costly solutions. Dietrich Engineering agreed to look further into this proposal and I look forward to hearing their comments when they are available.

I will add that I, along with many other property owners along Bruce Beach Rd, am adamantly against any solution that would involve paving the road. This would result in increased traffic speed and increase the risk to children and adults, both residents and others who use the road for walking, running and cycling.

I will continue to actively follow this issue and will optimistically trust that the council will listen to the concerns of the residents and make the appropriate decisions.

Thank you for airing my views
