Council Direction - April 3, 2024

On April 3, 2024, Council received a staff report regarding further road analysis to determine the possibility of constructing a multi-use path and parking spaces along Boiler Beach Rd. The report options are summarized below.

After much discussion of these options, Council directed staff to proceed with a road design to establish defined "on-street" parking areas on the west side of the road which do not interfere with the travelled lanes. At this time, Township staff will continue with the design of the initial phase of construction, located north of Huronville St. without a multi-use path on Boiler Beach Rd, however, Council directed staff to continue investigating multi-use path options that could be constructed in the future.

Traffic calming measures will also be incorporated into the road design of Boiler Beach Rd in order to provide an enhanced level of safety for all traffic types. Construction timelines have not been determined at this time and any projects would have to be approved by Council and included in the capital budget.

For full details of the staff report and presentation, please see the attachments on the sidebar.
