Tree Contractor update Attawandaron Nature Trail

The Attawandaron Nature Trail Ash Tree Project is a result of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation which has caused the death of thousands of ash trees in Huron-Kinloss.

The contractor will be removing logs from the trail and staging them for safety reasons on Ridgewood road allowance for pick up by logging trucks. Any damage to grass areas along the roadside will be repaired in the spring.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss has authorized Savage Bros. Ltd to remove over 60 ash trees and hazardous trees along the Attawandaron Nature Trail. The trees are being removed due to safety concerns from falling trees or tree limbs in the next two weeks. All wood will be removed and branches chipped. During this time, the Attawandaron Nature Trail will be closed to the public. In 2020, the Township will be completing a tree planting program in the Attawandaron Nature Trail. Please be aware of equipment operating in the area, be patient, and respectful of the contractors and the work being completed.
