Attawandaron Nature Trail

The Attawandaron Nature Trail Ash Tree Project is a result of the Emerald Ash Borer infestation which has caused the death of thousands of ash trees in Huron-Kinloss.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss has authorized Savage Bros. Ltd to remove over 60 ash trees and hazardous trees along the Attawandaron Nature Trial and surrounding area (See attached map). The trees are being removed due to safety concerns from falling trees or tree limbs. The work is scheduled from October 2019 – March 2020. All wood will be removed and branches chipped. During this time, the Attawandaron Nature Trail will be closed to the public.

The contractor will be removing logs from the trail and staging them on the closest and safest road allowance for pick up by logging trucks.

In 2020, the Township will be completing a tree planting program in the Attawandaron Nature Trail.

Please be aware, patient, and respectful of the contractors and the work being completed.
