What is a Strategic Plan?
A strategic plan is a guiding document that identifies what is important to Council, Staff and the Community. The plan includes a vision for the community - "where do we want to be?" And an action plan to answer the question - "how are we going to get there?"
By adopting a strategic plan, Staff can adequately plan capital projects, budget requests, staffing and opportunities to collaborate with other departments and other organizations to deliver the actions identified in our plan.
It makes it easier for Council and Staff to understand what the communities needs are, what the priorities are, and how we can align our efforts to be efficient and effective in achieving the vision for the community.
Why would you want to be involved?
Community involvement in strategic planning is key! We need to understand what the communities priorities are and what you envision for the future of Huron-Kinloss. You tell us your vision for the future and let staff figure out how to deliver that to you!
How do you get involved?
There will be many opportunities to get involved in the strategic planning process, including:
Community workshops
A public survey
School sessions
Talking to staff at events throughout the community
We will post updates on this page as new information, engagement opportunities and project updates are available, so check back often!
